The 25.8 Data Release includes data from the following studies:
Human data
The Cardiovascular Health Study (CHS)
This study indexes data from the dbGaP repository. The Cardiovascular Health Study (CHS) is a prospective study of cardiovascular risk factors in adults 65+. It enrolled 5,888 participants from four U.S. communities (1989–1993) and included clinic exams, cognitive and physical assessments, and follow-ups. It tracks cardiovascular events using standardized protocols.
The New England Centenarian Study (NECS)
This study indexes data from the dbGaP repository, revealing complete genomic sequences of two supercentenarians, both over 114 years old, who have avoided or delayed age-related disease far beyond 100. Their genomes are largely typical but contain ~1% novel variants and an enrichment of longevity-linked variants. Findings suggest both common and rare genetic factors may counter disease risk and support exceptional lifespan, offering new insight into healthy aging.
